Amaarae: The Governors Ball 2025

Ghanaian singer-songwriter Amaarae has been bending genres—and rules—ever since her 2017 debut Passionfruit Summers put the seductive single “Fluid” on the map. Apple Music quickly crowned her a “Favorite New Artist,” and she’s since electrified Boiler Room Accra, lit up ART X Lagos, and teamed up with heavyweights like Stonebwoy, Wande Coal, and Kojey Radical.

Her breakthrough LP The Angel You Don’t Know (2020) confirmed what critics were whispering: Amaarae was setting the pace for global pop. She followed with Fountain Baby (2023), becoming the first Ghanaian on NPR Tiny Desk, and in 2025 she made history again—shaving her head mid-set during a solo Coachella appearance while teasing her next album Black Star.

Expect bold visuals, feather-light falsetto, and a fearless fusion of Afrobeats, R&B, and alt-pop when Amaarae takes the stage. This is one performance you’ll feel long after the lights go down.
