Sak Pase: Afro-Konpa Party

SOB’s Presents: SAK PASE

A new Afro-Kompa night returns to Soho after a packed first run, bringing together the sounds and spirit of Haiti and the wider African and Caribbean diaspora.

Hosted by Miabelle from Hot 97, the evening brings DJs Citizen B and DJ Marz to the decks, guiding the crowd through a curated mix shaped by artists like Joé Dwèt Filé, Burna Boy, Kawest, Michaël Brun, Dadju, Aya Nakamura, KeBlack, Minz, SenSey, DIP, and Wally Seck. Expect the full spectrum of Kompa, Gouyad, Raboday, Rara, Afrobeats, Dancehall, and Soca as the night builds.

Rhum Punch and a selection of Haitian and African cocktails set the tone, with late-night happy hour specials available. Entry is free with RSVP from 10:30 to 11pm, capacity permitting. Guests arriving later can secure priority access by purchasing tickets online and entering any time from 10:30pm until close.

SOB’s remains one of New York City’s essential homes for Haitian, African, and Caribbean music. Since its founding in 1982, the venue has championed the sound of the Afro-Latino diaspora and helped introduce Kompa, Raboday, Afrobeats, and Dancehall to NYC audiences. Early performances featured foundational artists like Tabou Combo, Kassav, Sweet Micky, Carimi, T-Vice, and Fela Kuti. Today, the stage continues to welcome leading voices including Klass, Zafem, Wyclef Jean, Tems, Wizkid, and Lojay.
