Souljazz Orchestra, the raging Canadian whirlwind of Afrobeat/Latin/Carribean/Funk (Yes- they do play all of those genres. Turns out that with enough horns, you can do just about anything…) has just embarked on a US tour in support of Solidarity, their most recent album. Released on the UK powerhouse Strut, it’s a powerful blast of throwback bravado, mixing deep multicultural grooves with righteous political anger, harking . This stuff is house-rocking on record, so its a fairly safe bet that it will be absolutely monstrous live.
Wanna give it a listen before you buy a ticket? A good place to start is this great remix of the track “Serve and Protect” by Sofrito sound.
Then catch em out there!
