Bass Player Luke Top and guitarist Lewis Pesacov discovered a shared passion for “world music” and started loose African-inspired dance sessions at Los Angeles clubs such as Spaceland and The Echo, attracting musicians of all types from the L.A. scene looking to jam on an African vibe. With a roster of 10 to 12 musicians, including current and former members of band's such as Foreign Born, The Fall, We Are Scientists, Glasser, Cass McComb's Band and even the Argentinean pop star, Erica Garcia, Fool's Gold plays a heady brew of dance music from West Africa, Congo, and Ethiopia combined with more typical popular influences. In 1967, when Miranda was 17 years old, he made his recording debut with the song, "Let's Ball," with Joey Pastrana and had his first "hit" with "Rumbon Melon." In 1969, Miranda joined the Fania All Stars and went on tour to Europe, Asia and Latin America. In 1973, he formed his own band called Revelacion and recorded "Así se compone un son" under the Fania Record Label. In 1988, Miranda established his own record label, IM Records. He holds two degrees in Mass Communication (IMT, Enugu) and Business Admin (Enugu State University of Technology). He has worked with many contemporary Nigerian artists like P-SQUARE, RESONANCE, TIMAYA, SOUL E and WAJE. Jay has also produced or written hits for many notable Gospel musicians in Nigeria including Patty Obasi, Chinyere Udoma and Agape Love Band. His debut album, titled Get Serious, was released in 2008. Chameleone started his career in the late 1990's, affiliated with Ogopa DJs record label from Kenya. Chameleone’s musical style is a combination of Ugandan folk music, central African rumba, zouk and ragga. His first album was released in Kenya in 1999.
