  Fool’s GoldBass Player Luke Top and guitarist Lewis Pesacov discovered a shared passion for “world music” and started loose African-inspired dance sessions at Los Angeles clubs such as Spaceland and The Echo, attracting musicians of all types from the L.A. scene looking to jam on an African vibe. With a roster of 10 to 12 musicians, including current and former members of band's such as Foreign Born, The Fall, We Are Scientists, Glasser, Cass McComb's Band and even the Argentinean pop star, Erica Garcia, Fool's Gold plays a heady brew of dance music from West Africa, Congo, and Ethiopia combined with more typical popular influences. In 1967, when Miranda was 17 years old, he made his recording debut with the song, "Let's Ball," with Joey Pastrana and had his first "hit" with "Rumbon Melon." In 1969, Miranda joined the Fania All Stars and went on tour to Europe, Asia and Latin America. In 1973, he formed his own band called Revelacion and recorded "Así se compone un son" under the Fania Record Label. In 1988, Miranda established his own record label, IM Records.
