-AFRO PUNK FESTIVAL AT BAM-
The Rose Cinema at the Brooklyn Academy of Music presents a long weekend of films addressing black identity and American culture. Including some rediscovered rarities, the Festival offers a sweeping look at African-American cinema over the last forty years.
-BADENYA FESTIVAL-
Presented by Badenya in conjunction with Village Exchange International, Badenya Festival 2008 features Foday Musa Suso and Sekouba Bambino, two of today's premier West African musicians. Proceeds benefit the work done by Badenya and VEI in Sierra Leone and Ghana.

- THE CONCERT OF COLORS IN DETROIT -
The Concert of Colors is metro Detroit’s free annual diversity music festival. Presented by ACCESS/Arab American National Museum, New Detroit Inc. and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO) with the goal of bringing together metro Detroit’s diverse communities and ethnic groups by presenting musical acts from around the world. Over its 15-year history, the festival has become a beloved highlight of metro Detroit’s summer festival season.

This summer the Spirit of Music Garden in Grant Park becomes a unique outdoor urban dance space – the largest of its kind in the United States.
