Hear the remarkable sounds of world music singers Nahawa Doubia, Alama Knate, Amity Meria, Affou Keita and more. Nahawa Doumbia (Mali)
Recognized as one of the most popular singer from the Wassoulou region in South Mali, Nahawa Doumbia is a remarkable performer who speaks out an positions of women in her society. Her words have reached the world but speak to the younger generation of West African women. She sings about everything from love to social position. Her first album “Didadi “broke through the barriers with upbeat momentum and rhythm that is heard throughout festivals and carnivals. Nahawa Doumbia is on her fourth album now “Yankaw” shares the same vibe but is characterized with some modern technology.
