Afropop: At Home and Abroad 2009

This week’s Afropop program gets around! From Khaled unveiling new music in Paris, to banjo maestro Bela Fleck jamming his way through East and West Africa, to Sam and Selmor Mtukudzi (kids of Oliver) in Harare, Zimbabwe. We offer two fascinating interview transcripts, both loaded with photographs. Our interview with Khaled includes comments from the producer of his 2009 release Liberté, Martin Meissonnier. And our interview with Bela Fleck includes excerpts with collaborators from his spring 2009 Africa Project tour, Anania Ngoliga, Vusi Mahlasela, D’Gary, and Toumani Diabaté. Here are the links. Enjoy!
