Stereotype., which came out in 2009. Tthe songs draw on soul, funk, jazz, and to some degree African music, but all within a solid hip hop framework. Blitz raps about his personal story, but also slavery, the prison system, the struggle to forge an individual identity in a multi-cultural milieu, the history of hip hop, and the way too many great artists are only recognized and revered after they die. After the release of this CD, Blitz steadily built his reputation as a dynamic stage performer, both around the US and in Europe. He releases his second CD, Native Sun, in 2011. This album more explicitly draws on African music, particularly highlife and afrobeat.
