Paranda artist. He is a musical legend among Garifuna, hailing from Punta Gorda, a small coastal town of about 6,000 people in southern Belize. Not only is he the town\'s only living Parandero, but he is the local Buyei (spiritual healer and religious leader of the community) as well. Nabor spends his days fishing and his nights playing guitar.

"Growing up, we got all we needed from the earth. We fished, we farmed. We picked coconuts, made our own instruments. Occasionally we\'d trade for new clothes. That was it. After the introduction of \'money\' things changed. People now feel that they need \'more and more stuff, things.\' More and more Garifuna keep moving to the cities where they are unhappy since they\'ve lost touch with the land," Nabor says. This might be the explanation for the dying art of Paranda, though missions set out by people like Ivan Duran and Gil Abarbanel of Stonetree Records attempt to preserve this music and culture.
