President George Bush addressed some 2,000 business and government leaders from the U.S. and Africa at the Corporate Council on Africa's U.S.-Africa Business Summit in Washington D.C. in late June.

The speech was long and detailed, effectively his vision on the eve of his first state visit to the Continent,of how America can help Africa and how Africa can help itself on the basic issues of the day: peace and security; hunger; HIV/AIDS; trade; combating terrorism; and education.
