In one of our favorite yearly rituals, it’s once again time for another edition of Latin Alternative powerhouse Nacional Record’s free compilations! The recently released “New Sounds of Latin Music Vol. 4” is a fresh, unique compilation of the wide spectrum of genres, sounds, and scenes represented on the label. From down and dirty Latin funk to pop-trance and chill hip-hop, this (just saying it again) FREE compilation has something for everyone. Here are some of our favorites-
NYC resident but Argentine by birth, artist Natalia Clavier makes a memorable splash on this album with her catchy, pop track “Trouble.” Featuring a dynamic brass section packed full with swinging trumpet lines and a killer trombone solo, the song is fun to dance to and with its fun, memorable lyrics, you’ll probably be singing it for days!
Looking to turning up the heat?? Tune into track three. Chilean singer/songwriter Alex Anwandter gets close and personal with his melodic love song “Tormento”. With its smooth electronic groove, beautifully crafted chorus, and Anwandter’s sweet tenor voice, “Tormento” brings us to new heights.
But if the slow tunes don’t do it for you, maybe Los Macuanos’ repetitive, funky groove “Ritmo De Amor” is more up your alley. This virtually lyric-less song comes complete with solid bass and Latin percussion lines, along with a kooky trance-like synth line. This track should definitely be played at full volume so turn that –ish up!
Yet another shift in musical direction is DJ Raff’s “I Need a Beat” (feat Maka Melendez) Melendez’s effortless, soothing vocals paired with a heavy electronic bass lend themselves perfectly to this track. So sit back and enjoy the vibes.

Also, if you dig it as much as we do, you will definitely make sure to check out both Natalia Clavier and Alex Anwandter (along with a WHOLE lot more up and coming artists) at the Latin Alternative Music Conference, taking place in NYC July 9th to the 13th !
