The legendary Malian vocalist and griot Kassé Mady Diabaté recently embarked on his first-ever solo U.S. tour. Joining him on tour are Ballaké Sissoko on kora, Lansiné Kouyaté on balafon, and Badié Tounkara on ngoni. The quartet makes a stop at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, in the Grace Rainey Rogers auditorium, on Thurs., Oct. 1. The show is a collaboration between World Music Institute and the Met.
