Free Summer Concert Lineups Announced

Summer’s almost here! Almost, ’cause it is still pretty cold and rainy in NYC right now. But, hypothetical warm weather aside, one of the best things about summer in NYC is the host of concerts available throughout the city. And best of all, they’re FREE. Here is a short list of some of our favorites.

Lincoln Center Out of Doors is featuring a partnership between Lincoln Center and globalFEST, and they have one heck of a night planned.

Sunday, July 27th features three stages of amazing acts from all over the globe. Definitely don’t want to miss this one. The action starts at 5pm.

Charanjit Singh, DJ Ushka, Baiana Play Som & DJ Ripley at Roslyn and Elliot Jaffe Drive. This show includes the New York debut of Charanjit Singh of 10 Ragas to a Disco Beat fame and DJ sets from Dutty Artz crew.

BaianaSystem, The Bombay Royale, Pupy y Los Que Son Son and Emil Zrihan at the Damrosch Park Bandshell. Pianist and songwriter César “Pupy” Pedroso, of Los Van Van fame, playing Cuban music from son to timba.

M.A.K.U. Soundsystem, Banda de los Muertos & Debauche at Hearst Plaza. M.A.K.U Soundsystem is a live dub outfit of Colombian-born New Yorkers, playing a uniquely blend of traditional and modern influences.

BRIC is bringing back the Celebrate Brooklyn! festival to the Prospect Park Bandshell. All show start at dusk, and of course, are FREE. Here are some of the highlights.
